Welcoming Derrick to the world!

On December 7th 2014 at 5:18am my wife delivered our first baby, Derrick Kei Kitajima at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, CA. Word’s can’t describe all the emotions that we went through as we welcomed Derrick into our arms that morning… Now that he is out of his mother’s womb he is showing that he is full of energy and he is very healthy by… crying a lot! Now as a parent for the first time we felt a sense of responsibility which quickly turned into a sense of motivation to make sure we are doing what we can to provide him the best life possible. We all want our kids to live in a safer neighborhood, have the best healthcare possible and go to the better schools… To be able to do that I am extra motivated to do the best that I can at our agency to make sure Derrick will have the opportunity to have the best life possible. Thanks to my incredible wife who gave us the most precious gift a couple can ever receive. Thanks also to our families, my team and everyone who supported us all during this whole process and I want to also give thanks now for the support we will receive from you in the future as we continue to raise Derrick the best we can!

Today Janet and her husband picked up the keys to their first home in Anaheim, CA! Buying a home is not an easy process at all with a lot of ups and downs. It is also something that cannot be done overnight and it is a results of many years of hard work and dedication. Janet spent many weekends and weeknights looking and became very disciplined so she can save money for this to happen so I am extremely proud and happy for her and her husband to see them accomplish this financial goal of theirs. Congrats to you and your family Janet! It’s a huge accomplishment!

Risa’s Baby Shower

Risa and I are expecting our first child (It’s a boy!) so our team put together a surprise baby shower for us! It was so nice of everyone to put together such a fun day filled with great food and fun games and they really helped us prepared for our baby with all the amazing gifts! We ordered food from Buca di Beppo in Anaheim, CA and desert was from Nothing Bundt Cakes in Tustin, CA. Thanks everyone for making today such an awesome day that me and Risa will never forget! Today I realized how lucky I am to have such great people on our team. I love our team!
The baby shower was with a sports theme so we all represented our favorite sports team!

Happy National Boss’ Day

Yesterday was National Boss’ Day I learned when the team got me a cake and balloon! I always make sure my employees feel appreciated so it was very touching to find out that they feel the same towards me.
I’ve learned throughout the years how I can improve as a boss because I know the most important thing necessary to run a successful insurance agency is to have people who have intelligence, integrity and commitment.
After 8 years of hiring my employees I can honestly say that my current team is the best group of motivated individuals I have ever had. Not only do we get work done we all get along as a team and have a culture of helping each other which we have emphasized since day one.
Although we have already reached several milestones I know with our current team we are going to reach a higher level together in the near future!
Thank you for celebrating National Boss Day with me team! All I did was provide you the opportunity and you are doing the rest! I am looking forward to seeing you reach all your goals in life. Let’s go and accomplish things that we all can not do without each other!

Last Friday (October 10th) was Laura’s Bday! Although I had to be in Japan the rest of the team celebrated this special day with Laura at the Bluewater Grill in Tustin, CA.
Laura has been a licensed agent since 2009 and had previous experience working selling auto insurance before joining our team in 2012. When she first joined us she was very happy that she found a place to work that cares about their clients. The brokerage she used to work for did not feel the same. (We won’t mention there name but you have probably heard of their commercial on the radio) They wanted to make as much money as possible by charging as much broker fee as they can. She is a caring person who did not feel right doing that so the fact that our agency does not charge a broker fee really makes her feel good about herself since she knows she is always doing what is best for our clients which is protecting them with a quality insurance company like Farmers without charging any additional fees.

Laura obviously absolutely loves her 3 year old daughter and is always talking about her. Laura’s daughter actually also had her birthday earlier this same month! (Happy Bday Maddy!)

Mr. Rick Shriver sent an email to us yesterday stating… “Congratulations on currently being ranked in the top 30 companywide at #1 in the all lines new business new household category and #6 in all lines new business premium!” We have always taken pride in being one of the top Farmers Insurance agencies in California but 2014 could be the year we finish #1 (in NBNH) in the nation! However, our lead over the 2nd place agent (James Wade Agency in Pennsylvania) is just about 20 policies so we still have a lot of work to do until the end of the year! Thank you Mr. Shriver for recognizing our hard work so far this year! We are looking forward to finishing the year strong!

Monday July 28th was a special day for our agency since it was our top agent Janet’s Birthday! We all went to Koki’s in Tustin to celebrate!

Congrats to Addie passing her CA Department of Insurance License Test!

Our very own Adilene Tinoco passed her CA Department of Insurance License earlier this year on her very first time! We are so proud she learned so much in short amount of time and studied and passed her test while she was pregnant. (Not easy!!)
As happy as we are for her right now we are more excited about her future here because really her career as an insurance professional officially just got started!
We celebrated her passing her license and had a team lunch at El Calamar (Santa Ana, CA) and wished her best because today was the last day before she goes on maternity leave. (Don’t forget everything Adi!)
